Teddie and Chuck Betkey would like to welcome you to the Fairdel Inn B&B. The idea of a Bed & Breakfast in this area of Baltimore was first presented to Teddie Betkey by a traveling Catholic nun. She voiced an opinion that there was a need for alternatives to large hotels or motels for nuns and other women traveling to unfamiliar places. There is also a great need in this area for people from out of town that are here to be with ailing friends or relatives. Teddie and Chuck realized that their proximity to all of the hospitals and city sites, and the peaceful and secure neighborhood they lived in, would give them the opportunity to open their home to others.

Teddie Betkey has lived in Baltimore all her life and has lived in the Parkville neighborhood for 15 years. She graduated from Towson University and has been an entrepreneur for many years. In addition to running her own massage therapy business, she is known through out the community for her many hours of volunteer work. She is currently Vice-President of the North Harford Road Community Association, a Citizen-On-Patrol volunteer, she performs fund-raising activities for Muscular Dystrophy , the American Cancer Society, and the Girl Scouts. She also works anonymously and behind the scenes with local substance abuse programs.

Chuck

Chuck was born and raised in Parkville and can entertain guests with anecdotes of the history of the area as well as offer easy travel suggestions and little-known (and inexpensive) areas of interest. Chuck is a member of the American Legion , the VFW and the Moose and is well regarded in the community. His 40 years experience in HVAC and appliance repair makes him the perfect candidate for maintenance man for the Fairdel Inn B&B.
